Kathmandu. A promo that opens with the cry of a newborn has stirred deep curiosity among audiences about the story of the film 'Sarathi'. Actress Niruta Singh appears in a role very different from her earlier ones: serious and emotional. The promo was released on Monday through the official YouTube channel of Kimbhe Production.
A Silent Pain That Begins with a Cry
The baby's cry at the start of the promo pulls viewers straight into the story. Then Niruta appears on screen, holding an infant in her arms. Her face shows no hurry and no outburst, only a deep silence and a burden hidden in her eyes. That calm expression says a great deal without words.
The most touching moment of the promo is the shot of blood flowing from the soles of her feet. She seems to be moving forward despite her wounded feet, protecting the child in her arms, and the glimpse recalls pain, struggle and a mother's love all at once. Where has she come from? Where is she going? Why has this journey become so hard? These questions linger in the viewer's mind.
Giri Bishwakarma as 'Chhora'
In the film, Giri Bishwakarma plays the role of 'Chhora' (the son). Alongside Niruta Singh, the cast includes Uttam Pradhan, Mukunda Shrestha, Rajendra KC and Samrant Thapa. Gayatri Joshi, Kalpana Thapa, Madan Thapa, Anita Kuikel, Kamala Aryal and Milan Khadka have also acted in it. Rashmi Gurung, Tulsi Rai, Asha Bishwakarma, Santosh Dhakal, Biplav Khadka, Sagar Kandel, Sudip Nepal and Dhiren Karki bring life to various other characters.
In the Lap of Gurja, Myagdi
The film was shot in the Gurja area of Myagdi district. Cinematographer Sankalp Bhujel has captured both the calm and the harshness of the hill landscape on camera. This rural setting, combined with the promo's serious mood, is expected to deepen the emotion of the story. The film is made under the joint banner of Kimbhe Production and Dhiraj Film Infinity, and its presenter is Tara Thapa 'Kimbhe'.
Director Kumar Gajurel's Vision
'Sarathi' is directed by Kumar Gajurel. Judging from the simple yet powerful presentation of the promo, the director seems to want to tell the story through visuals and emotion rather than big dialogue. The film will be released in cinemas from Mangsir 11.
Radip Shrestha and Pradip Raymajhi are the producers. Bekbahadur Bishwakarma and Naveen Shrestha are the executive producers. Avinash Rai, Dwarika Shrestha and Omison Thapa are the co-producers.
Technical Team
Amir KC is the line producer. Raju Khatiwada is the chief assistant director, while Yamuna Acharya and Ashish Shrestha are assistant directors. The music is by Babul Giri and Prashant Sivakoti. The film will be distributed by RR Films.
From Director to Actor: 'Krishna' in 'Ahuri'
Alongside directing, Kumar Gajurel is also active as an actor. He plays the lead character 'Krishna' in the Nepali story-based film 'Ahuri', presented by Ahuri Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and produced under Pratiphal Films Production. The film is planned for release in 2027. His journey, directing a story from behind the camera in 'Sarathi' and standing in front of it as a lead character in 'Ahuri', shows his versatility as an artist.
Congratulations to Kumar Gajurel, who had worked with our team on the Nepali story-based film 'Ahuri', from the team of 'Ahuri'. We sincerely wish that 'Sarathi' will be grand and successful.
The Wait Begins
A baby's cry, the silent pain of a woman who seems to be a mother, and blood flowing from her feet. These three scenes suggest that 'Sarathi' carries a deep, moving story rather than light entertainment. How deeply Niruta Singh's new look touches the audience, and how Giri Bishwakarma appears as 'Chhora', will be known on screen on November 27 (Mangsir 11).
